Parts of a linear guide
Point at a number or a part of the drawing.
Hardened steel rail bolted to the machine base. Its ground ball grooves guide the carriage in a straight line.
Slides along the rail on rows of steel balls and carries the injection unit carriage with very little friction.
Steel balls roll between the block and the rail, then return through a channel in the block to roll again.
Plastic end caps turn the balls round at each end of the block; rubber seals wipe dirt off the rail.
Lubrication point on the end cap. Regular greasing keeps the balls and grooves from wearing.
Bolts fix the rail to the machine base and the block to the carriage. Loose bolts let the unit shift out of line.
